Monday 4 July 2011

Farmfest 2011 arrived with some of the warmer days of the Summer. The skies were clear and it seemed a perfect way to kick of a weekend of events with some excellent music in a beautiful setting. Parsonage Farm is very much a family affair run by Sarah and John with help from their children and Sarah's father. Quarterly food and craft markets have been a common occurence since last Autumn.
This year the stalls consisted of a wide variety of local crafts and food. Including gift cards, household accessories, cakes, chutneys, cider and much more.

On Saturday evening the fesitivities kicked off with live music from Black Dog and plenty of food and refreshments available including Parsonage Farms very own sausages, burgers and pork steaks. The general feeling was that everything was delicious and cooked to the utmost perfection.

As the evening went on the firepit provided a lovely ambience as well as some appreciated warmth. The combined smells of the BBQ and the logs burning created a wonderful atmosphere.

Black Dog played late into the evening, offering the audience some fantastic blasts from the past. As the sun set the music played on and eventually the last few notes faded and the campsite was made use of as those staying for the weekend made their way back to their tents.

Sunday came with excellent weather once again. Temperatures were close to 22 degrees before the gates opened to the public at eleven AM.

From Cider to Photographs, Strawberries to Vintage Furniture...there was something for absolutely everybody to enjoy on Sunday. Stalls offered tasters of many home made cakes, cider and other edibles whilst there were demonstrations going on from Metal Workers and Andover Forge with Parsonage Farm's very own Butcher providing demonstrations in the meatroom.

Christmas Farm provided visitors with tasty home baked pies and treats.

Molly, Jenni and Clayton selling strawberries from Percy (The Campervan). The strawberries and other goods were from Clayton Garage Londis in Hurstbourne Tarrant.
Reeve, Andover Forge rather rare and special dog enjoyed the attention throughout the day and was an absolute gem for the camera!
